One-Two-One Class
The One-Two-One Sunday School class meets Sunday at 10 AM in the Gym/Multi-Purpose Room. We have about 14-22 average attendance of couples and singles with any age invited. The class presently is mostly aged 50+ but should appeal to most adult age groups. We do not have a set agenda, but favor open discussion on multiple topics that we find interesting and different.
At present we are reading and discussing the gospel of Mark. In the past we have diverted into Mary Shelly's Frankenstein as a morality play, the morality of cloning a human, the role of God in science in general, the gospel of John, the nature of "truth", (truth in religion, truth in history, etc.), the history behind many church holidays and traditions, Christian mystics, Celtic poetry, Dostoevsky, and many other topics.
Anyone can come in with a topic and we enjoy the ensuing discussion. This is not a class where the teacher instructs and the attendees listen. We learn from each other, no viewpoint is wrong, and no person is criticized for any opinion. We have fun. We are a non-traditional church forum.
